MAKING EVERY OPPORTUNITY COUNT (MEOC)

Making Every Opportunity Count is a brief intervention being rolled out across Aberdeen and Grampian which aims to take a preventative approach whereby, staff can make the best of every appropriate. opportunity to raise the issues of a healthy lifestyle and promote health and wellbeing messages.

MEOC encourages staff to engage in conversations on lifestyle and life circumstances.  This could include, smoking, healthy eating, healthy weight, being physically active and alcohol intake, money and housing issues.  Taking 30 seconds to 3 minutes, the brief conversation makes maximum use of our resources and our positive influence for health. Staff can provide information and signpost patients/community members to relevant services for further advice or support where appropriate
