Wellbeing Festival runs throughout May

Thu 30 Apr 2026

A month-long festival of wellbeing is under way, with scores of activities for all ages going ahead throughout May at venues right across Aberdeen.

Grampian Wellbeing Festival puts ‘feeling good’ centre stage in May

The Grampian Wellbeing Festival will be officially launched at the Aberdeen Vaccination and Wellbeing Hub in the Bon Accord Centre with an open day from 10am to 3pm, where people can drop in for free, find out more about what’s going ahead over the month, and get the chance to book a place at an event.

The launch will feature Dyce Academy Trad Band, Book Bugs, Zumba with Jackie, and the Rock Choir.

Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP) Chief Office Fiona Mitchelhill said: “As Chief Officer, I am proud to support the Grampian Wellbeing Festival and the strong partnership working behind it.

“The festival is a wonderful example of what we can achieve when communities and partners come together. Wellbeing is about the simple, everyday choices we make to connect, be active and look after ourselves and each other. I would encourage everyone to take part, try something new, and make time for their own wellbeing this May.”

The  festival has been co-ordinated by ACHSCP’s Wellbeing Team as part of their Stay Well, Stay Connected programme.

The packed programme encourages communities across Grampian to prioritise their wellbeing at any of the events designed to promote simple, practical ways to stay well.

The festival brings together public sector organisations, charities and community groups from across Grampian to deliver a wide range of free and low-cost wellbeing activities – including workshops, gentle movement, nature-based sessions, talks and family-friendly events, all designed to be welcoming and accessible.

The month of events highlights everyday wellbeing and prevention, with activities based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing – “Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give” – which is an evidence-based approach shown to improve wellbeing and resilience.

A key strength of the Grampian Wellbeing Festival is its collaborative approach. Health and social care partnerships, local authorities and NHS partners work alongside third sector and community organisations to coordinate and promote the programme, while community groups host events and create inclusive spaces rooted in local need.

By holding activities in familiar community settings and framing them around everyday wellbeing, the festival helps reduce stigma and normalise conversations about health.

Accessibility is central to the programme, with most events free to attend and held locally or online. Alongside the events programme, additional wellbeing resources and information are available to help people continue supporting their wellbeing beyond the festival.
